Spa & Fitness
 Charlie's
Spa is San Souci's complete tropical-style facility, and has earned
praise as one of the best spas in all the Caribbean by numerous critics,
and of course, by our guests. The spa got its name from "Charlie," a
friendly resident sea turtle who lives in the mineral spring grotto that
bubbles up from beneath the resort with rejuvenating waters that rival
the great natural mineral springs of Europe.
As far back as the 1700s, the mineral springs on the Sans Souci
property have been mentioned in Jamaican history books as being
excellent for health and renewing romantic energy. For generations,
people from nearby villages would congregate on Sundays lining up for
the whole day to take their turn in the mineral spring for its curative
powers. Today, Charlie's Spa offers a complete array of revitalizing and
pampering treatments to relax and tone the body, mind and soul.
The 24-hour fitness center is complete with an indoor gym boasting
the latest in aerobics equipment, exercise machines and free weights. We
also offer classes in aerobics, yoga, aquacize, reggae dance and
meditation. Personal trainers are available for every sport to assist
you in developing a fitness schedule.
Weddings
For couples planning a romantic wedding or renewal of vows we offer the
perfect setting. Your ceremony and reception can take place in a variety
of picturesque venues - on the beach, in a Jamaican garden, or a
beautiful gazebo atop rock cliffs overlooking the Caribbean Sea.
In addition to arranging all details and performing the ceremony,
Sans Souci provides the marriage license and certificate, minister,
witnesses, tropical bridal bouquet, boutonniere, champagne and wedding
cake free of charge (excluding government taxes).
Evening Interludes
Romantic evenings offer nightly entertainment suited to many moods.
Nostalgic piano melodies, dramatic floor shows, moonlight dancing, or
even the enchanting serenade of nocturnal tree frogs can be heard from
the privacy of one's own balcony.
Water Sports
Our two intimate coves offer beaches with warm, sparkling clear water
perfect for sunbathing, swimming and water sports including snorkeling,
sailing, windsurfing, hydra-bikes, kayaking, water skiing and scuba
diving. Several pools and outdoor Jacuzzis are spread throughout the
property and the more private beach is clothing optional.
Pools
Outdoor soaking and swimming include our mineral springs bubbling in
hidden grottos, four pools, three outdoor jacuzzis and of course the
gorgeous blue Caribbean ocean.
Live Nightly Entertainment
Nightly entertainment includes Sans Souci Resort & Spa's resident band,
strolling musicians (saxophonist, guitarist and flutist), and the
Balloon Bar, the Resort's piano lounge. In addition, the resort
schedules weekly themed parties.
Land Sports
The resort provides many fitness and recreational activities - both
organized and unorganized - including table tennis, basketball,
volleyball, bocce ball, croquet, bicycling - and two championship tennis
courts (lit for night play) .
Golf
Golf is available at the award-winning Upton Golf and Country Club, just
10 minutes away from the resort. As part of the all-inclusive
philosophy, even transfers and greens fees to this course are included
in your package. Please note that a fee is levied by the Country Club
for caddies (mandatory) and equipment rental.
At Sans Souci Resort & Spa, we've set the bar for excellence in
Caribbean dining with more culinary awards than any other Caribbean
resort. Our chefs are trained in European, French, Italian, Caribbean,
and Continental Cuisine.
Casanova is the resort's fine-dining
gem. Classic gourmet French cuisine is elegantly presented with European
style and panache. Whether it be in air-conditioned comfort or cooled by
Caribbean breezes beneath the stars on the Casanova Terrace. Here is
where guests come to enjoy a luxurious meal at the end of the perfect
day. Casanova serves dinner only and jackets required for dining inside.
Ristorante Palazzina serves lavish
breakfast and luncheon buffets featuring traditional favorites and
Caribbean-inspired cuisine. Dinner includes a menu of fresh pastas with
a variety of exquisite sauces and savory Italian specialties served a la
carte. Smart casual dress, dinner reservations required.
Bella Vista is where one goes to have
a moonlit dinner right on the beach. Soothed by melodies of our
traditional Jamaican Mento Band, the delicious menu of authentic
Jamaican specialties and unequalled atmosphere makes this spot a
favorite among guests. Casual dress, no reservations required.
Beach Grill serves Jamaican-style
gourmet hamburgers and other grilled specialties from 12:30pm until 5pm.
under the bright blue Ocho Rios sky. Bare feet and bathing suits are
welcome.
All of the 146 luxury suites at Sans Souci are ocean-facing with
terraces and balconies, and are nestled among the gorgeous tropical
island vegetation.
